Let me just start off saying, I’m SO HAPPY LIN IS BACK. It’s only been two episodes…but YES. THE BEI FONG LEGACY LIIIIIIIIIIIIVES. /cough Anyways. On with my review.

Honestly, I was a bit disappointed with the season finale episodes. I think it MAINLY started going down hill once Amon took off his mask…or maybe when that sibling brotherly love story came up. One of those. Lots of things didn’t make much sense to me in this episodes. But man.

• Amon: Honestly it was really disappointing to hear he was Tarlok’s brother. I was obviously already assuming that Amon was a blood bender because of the trailer showing Mako’s shaking hands and Amon’s clenched palm. It didn’t occur that it’d be Tarlok’s brother. Amon’s past also had a bit of ehh for me also. I mean, yeah, it was sad, but it still didn’t cover the fact why he was so against bending. They claim that it was because ‘he really believes bending is evil’ but…? Idk. I was thinking Amon’s motive was more along the lines of power hungry. Then, it got even worse when Amon’s mask floated up from the water and he got this whole cowardly thing where he ran away with his brother and suddenly some how ‘turned over a new leaf’ and decided to wanna start a new.  For the last 11 episodes, Amon has been on his plan and being one step ahead of everyone. He was really on it. Then he let everything go like that and decided to die with his brother. I just can’t really let go of the fact that he started up this movement and let it go just like that.
• Airbending:Yes, Korra’s been trying to learn airbending since Chapter 1 of this series. It’s great that she learned it, but it felt like she used it at the wrong time. What was the point of Tenzin’s teachings? Korra was in a dramatic situation and Tenzin had pointed out that you had to be calm or something along those lines. She kinda just did it in the moment…I mean, yay it was cool, but maybe it would have been slightly been better at a different time.
• Avatar State/Aang:Another one of the bigger disappoints of this finale. I felt that the Avatar state usually comes up during moments of extremely strong emotions or when your life is in danger. It was a bit strange to me since I’m so used to seeing Avatar state be activated only in those situations. Korra suddenly gets in touch with her spiritual side and then goes into Avatar state for no apparent reason. I mean, I can assume it was probably to show that she’s finally mastered all 4 elements and that she has the power to unlock it now, I guess. I don’t know. The situation of the avatar state was just disappointing.
• Makorra:The whole Makorra thing was rushed from the beginning. But it really threw me off when they said ‘I love you’ to each other. It may be due to my feelings towards the phrase, but wut. And man, Asami and Bolin kiiiiinnnddaaa got thrown off to the side there. I really didn’t like how it ended with Asami. That was like wtf. He really did just throw her away. I really felt bad for Asami because they ended their relationship together in such a weird way. No strong words no emotions just ‘I care about you’. That kinda was like ‘HUNNNHH?!’
• Aang: IT WAS GREAT TO SEE AANG! … but it was kind of in a weird way.
• Iroh: More like Iroh Man (get it? IRON MAN, HAHAH) He reminded me of a fire bending, non armor wearing Tony Stark. XD But that’s not a rant. The only thing I gotta say about Iroh is that his voice needs to be deeper cause I could honestly not focus on him seriously.

I really can’t think of any more, but yeah. I still enjoyed seeing all those scenes and I can’t wait to see what else they’ll have in the 2nd Season. Hopefully a LOT gets explained. I wonder what on earth they’ll have 2nd season be about now that Amon is SUPPOSEDLY gone?
